Dr. Susan Lim Is An Internationally Known Surgeon

Dr. Susan Lim is an internationally known, Singapore-based, surgeon. She is well known all over Asia because she was the first person to perform a liver transplant successfully. She achieved that feat in 1990. She was also given the “Spirit of the Century” Award, which the Singapore public awarded her in recognition of her work. The national contest was attempting to identify a role model for the 21st century.

Mount Elizabeth and Gleneagles Hospitals are the two premier hospitals in Singapore that Dr. Susan Lim works at as an active surgeon. She works in the fields of abdominal surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, breast surgery, pancreatic surgery, gallbladder surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, cancer, transplantation, and robotic surgery. In the field of surgery, Dr. Susan Lim is known as a pioneer, having utilized two new surgical technologies in Singapore and helping with the Da Vinci robotic general surgery program, too. Dr. Lim works with a team of 22 staffers, including nurses, administrative officers, and doctors. In both academia and the surgery industry, Dr. Lim has received accolades for her work.

Dr. Lim graduated from the Singapore Chinese Girls School and Raffles Institution. Dr. Lim then graduated from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, in 1979.
